Excerpts from letters received from elementary students:

“I am really happy that you got to come to Santa Fe Elementary.  I enjoyed when you said you wrecked the bar and when you said he kicked you out of the bar.  Will you please come back?”

“Thank you for the fun stories.  I like it when you shut down salloons and you put a hole in the salloons table.”

“It was funny when you walked in and sang your song and everyone headed for shelter.  What happened to your dauter .  I think that beer and wisky should be extinkt because it smells and tastes nasty.  It looks bad and kills.  I feel sorry for your husband hope good for your dotter.”

“Your story was interesting and very fascinating.  Your story was incredible.  The way you went and smashed up the saloons was so brave.  I could never have enough courage to do what you did.  I would get in trouble from my mom, anyway I would get spanked so much!”

“Thanks for coming to talk to us.  I liked the saloon part because you broke the windows.  That was funny.  Bad idea though because that was illegal.”

Thank you for coming to our school to let us learn more about pioneer days.  I really learned lot such as Kansas was trying to completely ban aouchahol.”

“Thank you for the mission for stopping alcohol.  I do not want to be a alcaholik.”

“I think it was good that you didn’t believe in alchoholics and drinking.  Thank you for coming to our school.”

“Thank you for coming to teach us about history.”
